As the intoxicating fumes of the Lord of the Deep Sea wrap their coils around the Sun, certainties evaporate and reality starts to feel like a simulation. Sun/Neptune aspects usually beget loss of clarity, lack of stamina and low vitality. Neptune is a siren song — beguiling and oracular in equal measure. The signs were originally thought of as the “houses" of the planets themselves; in spite of the fact that we tend to hear a lot more about the signs, especially in Modern Astrology, the planets are where it’s at when it comes to unraveling the architecture of a nativity. Whether or not you’ll be able to sit with a birth chart and uncoil its secrets after taking ENSOUL THE UNSEEN largely depends on your level of experience and familiarity with this craft. ❤️‍🔥 We are creatures of desire in the st ❤️‍🔥 We are creatures of desire in the steelbound grip of shame. ❤️‍🔥 The idea that our desires are somehow only legitimate if they are the *right* desires — sanitized, sensible, un-wild, is a chokehold for the Soul. So much of our energy is dissipated in trying to persuade ourselves to want the right things, rather than acknowledging our yearnings as the quintessential language of our Souls, exploring them, and giving in to the alchemy of wanting unabashedly. Part of the reason why I pay attention to Essential Dignities lies in their timeless potency. Venus in her adversity in the Mars-ruled sign of Scorpio speaks to me, in the same way she spoke to my ancestors — about malaise and uneasiness. While the prevalent narrative around adversity (the condition presently known as “detriment”) seemed to coalesce into exile in ancient times, perhaps reframing this idea as the quality of being alienated from our own desire nature is not too far removed from the original notion. Before we can truly allow ourselves to behold our own reflection on the murky surface of our deepest desires, we’re likely to face a modicum of resistance at the very least. Shame. Self-flagellation, even. It’s deep, visceral, powerful work, and I myself am patiently waiting to meet myself on the other side of discomfort. Whole and raw in my unabashed wanting.
