🌹Your art is an ecosystem you inhabit. 🌹 Wi 🌹Your art is an ecosystem you inhabit. 🌹 Within an ecosystem, all elements are linked together— even the breaking down of lifeless organic matter is a necessary step towards the facilitation of nutrient cycling. There is no hierarchy in ecosystems— there is, however, reciprocity. 💫 The New Moon clocking in at 12:18 UTC, 10°28 Taurus, rings in the start of Eclipse season. The two luminaries are exchanging vows with Uranus, the contrarian, as their officiant, and the North Node of the Moon as their witness. The Nodes are points of instability. Eclipses happen whenever a New or Full Moon lands in the sign the Nodes are in, and they’re akin to cosmic power outages— the lights go out. The hands of Fate are laid on us in the dark. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but-- Your I don’t know who needs to hear this, but-- Your job, as an artist (or as a human being, for that matter) is not to be radically cutting-edge. Innovation is not for everyone, and that’s okay. Originality is not something you can manufacture. I’ll go as far as to say that the fixation on sounding original is what’s keeping your art from standing out. I never met a single artist who had “originality” as their goal, whose art didn’t sound or seem or feel anemic at best— polished yet insipid, like out-of-season supermarket fruit. That shit is boring. Give me of the stuff that comes from your marrow and the blood and the guts and the gods that you worship. ⚖️ Balance, one of the keywords most frequentl ⚖️ Balance, one of the keywords most frequently associated with the sign of Libra, is a moving target, and it’s most often found in the interstice between the contentment of desires fulfilled and the discomfort of lack. That liminal space is where reckoning happens. The space in-between. The suspended animation of becoming. It’s a stage every relationship (‘relationships' being another quintessential Libra topic) goes through, because slipping in and out of balance is, paradoxically, the only way to keep things from becoming one-sided. I often say that, as artists and creatives, we don’t really own our art. Seeing art as something we do or make— as a task, an errand, a product— is one surefire way to banish ourselves into the purgatory of permanent dullness and creative stagnation. *Every* relationship needs relationship maintenance— including the one you have with your art. Creative blocks, lack of motivation are all telltale signs that your relationship with your inner artist needs a makeover. As the Moon grows Full at 26 degrees 45 minutes Libra this Saturday, the necessity to face the discomfort engendered by structures dying and transforming becomes palpable. This Venusian plenilune forms a close square to Pluto in Capricorn, signaling the need to release that which has a hold on us in order to accelerate all the way to the next level, and a trine to Saturn in Aquarius (commitment to integrity, devising systems that work for us). Ruler Venus is in Pisces, sumptuously exalted, but in aversion to the Moon. Are we forsaking pleasure and enchantment in favor of our myriad should’s and could’s? If you think you know how things are supposed to be done, what you’re supposed to be doing with your creative talents at this time, and are still feeling depleted and uninspired… perhaps you’ve stopped listening. 🌹Your art is an ecosystem you inhabit. 🌹 Wi 🌹Your art is an ecosystem you inhabit. 🌹 Within an ecosystem, all elements are linked together— even the breaking down of lifeless organic matter is a necessary step towards the facilitation of nutrient cycling. There is no hierarchy in ecosystems— there is, however, reciprocity. 💫 The New Moon clocking in at 12:18 UTC, 10°28 Taurus, rings in the start of Eclipse season. The two luminaries are exchanging vows with Uranus, the contrarian, as their officiant, and the North Node of the Moon as their witness. The Nodes are points of instability. Eclipses happen whenever a New or Full Moon lands in the sign the Nodes are in, and they’re akin to cosmic power outages— the lights go out. The hands of Fate are laid on us in the dark. The power comes back on and nothing looks the same. Ruled by Venus swimming in the warm, inviting waters of Pisces together with fellow benefic planet Jupiter, this Eclipse doesn’t ask anything of us but surrender— surrender to the natural, ecological resilience of the ecosystem that is our life. ⚡️How does a 🎛MIXING&MASTERING 🎛 session ⚡️How does a 🎛MIXING&MASTERING 🎛 session transform you? ⚡️ Some of you might know that sound engineering is one of the many creative avenues I pursued, even though, arguably, being a sound engineer is less about creating and more about getting your hands on someone else’s creation to fine-tune it and bring out its brilliance. It can be a thankless process, but the results are immensely rewarding. There’s an art to it, for sure. But it’s also something that requires patience, discipline and painstaking precision. It’s not unlike alchemy. You start out with a bunch of tracks and end up with a song.
